Japanese Spring

Spring comes early to Kyushu. Mid-February blossoms are pushing forth. Skies are clear. Mornings awake earlier.

Yesterday was a perfect late-winter / early spring day. Mr. Chef was off work yesterday, so we went out for a morning walk around the park. I didn’t bring the camera, so iPhone photos document the coming spring.

Now before my Canadian friends (buried under mountains of snow) get too jealous, I will point out that today is cold, grey, and rainy. I’m wearing long-johns in my house. And three shirts. And a gigantic sweater. And super-thick socks. And a scarf. And a hypothermia blanket. And I am still freezing. However, warmth is on the horizon!
