"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Stella: Pouting.

Hugo: Protesting.

This week we are feeling the effects of settling into the school routine after three long months of unencumbered days. There are, all too often, small people who collapse into tearful puddles sometime around 4:30 pm. I'm doing my best to enforce slower days, but with playgroup, swimming, and lovely neighbours next door who are always game for a play, our days are full, my best efforts notwithstanding.

And Hugo? He seems oblivious to this hurried pace of life, happy to follow along, going where we go. He's just upset when I insist that it is time to get out of the pool.
